21/5/99 After receiving appointment to the Y.R.O.L.N project, we sent a fax to all participating schools, asking for personal details, including a brief summary of their intended project. Eight returns came in. 
  • Lilydale HS (Researching the FIRST FAMILIES project.) 
  • Chirnside Park PS (Also researching the FIRST FAMILIES project.) 
  • Wandin Nth PS (History of the area, from 1900 - 2000) 
  • Billanook PS (Koorie culture in the Yarra Valley.) 
  • Lilydale Heights SC (Study of native wild-life in Yarra Ranges.) 
  • Upper Yarra SC (Year 8 S.O.S.E - Bush fires in the Yarra Valley.) 
  • Seville PS (History of the Seville area.) 
  • Badger Creek PS (Aboriginal culture, interaction between envir. and people. 
  • Healesville PS (Study of Healesville Sanctuary.) 
  • Kilsyth PS (Deferred their involvement until next year.) 
  • We are still awaiting summaries from Gladesville PS
14/7/99 The first official Y.R.O.L.N meeting was held at Lilydale High School, from 4 - 5 pm. In attendance were the two project officers and representatives from the following schools:-  
  • Wandin Nth Primary School 
  • Badger Creek Primary School 
  • Upper Yarra Secondary School 
  • Lilydale Heights Seconary College 
  • Lilydale High School 
  • Kilsyth Primary School

After introductions we discussed the format of the project and the role of the project officers. The representatives shared their plans for the project. It was pleasing to see the enthusiasm from all. Thanks to Lilydale High School for their wonderful catering.
16/7/99 A Principal's Reference Group was held at Lilydale HS to clarify the expectations and understandings of all involved with the Y.R.O.L.N project. Upper Yarra SC volunteered to create a logo for the project. (A senior student is undertaking this task.) It was decided by the next meeting that project officers should've visited all project schools and some start should be made. Each school's initial progress should be recorded on the web site by the end of the year.
16/7/99 We began visits to Y.R.O.L.N schools.

23/7/99 We continued visiting Y.R.O.L.N schools. 

Seville PS (Tour, discussion with Principal, date for return visits.) 

Badger Creek PS (Tour, discussion with Principal & teacher, date for return visit.) 

Upper Yarra SC (Tour, planning unit with teacher, dates for return visits.) 

Lilydale HS (Meeting with participating teachers, tour and dates set for PD.)
28/7/99 Continued visiting Y.R.O.L.N schools. 

Billanook PS (Tour, discussion and dates set for PD on Front Page '98 - 24/8 & 7/9/99.)
30/7/99 Completed visits of Y.R.O.L.N schools, with the exception of Gladesville PS. 

Lilydale Heights SC (Tour, discussion, dates for return visits.) 

Healesville PS (Tour, discussion of project.) 

Chirnside Park PS (Loaded Front Page '98 on applicable computers.)
